How to use these time zone resources
The links below group external references by purpose. A few notes on when each is worth reaching for:
- For a reliable IANA zone identifier to use in code or an API, treat the IANA database as the source of truth. Avoid fixed UTC offsets such as "UTC+2", which ignore daylight saving and will be wrong twice a year.
- When you need the current time somewhere, the live world clock is faster than any reference table, because it accounts for today's offset rather than a generic one.
- When scheduling, daylight saving transitions in March and October are the most common cause of a meeting landing an hour off. Confirm each participant's zone on the day rather than assuming.
